I, like many others, am wondering if they can make another album like Absolution. We all know Muse are experimenting with new things on this album and Suppermassive black hole is a perfect example. For the Muse fans that dont like their new single : dont be afraid, you have to hear the song in the album context and the album still has the Muse touch.

Tracklisting for the album is as follows:

01. Take A Bow

Muse kicks in with a retro sound that reminded me of bliss. "You bring corruption to all that you touch". Matt's voice still has that feeling to it that touches me deep. Beat goes up and harder only to explode and the lyrics take it over. "You'll Burn in Hell". Great way to start the album.

02. Starlight

Bass kicks in and takes the lead. Piano decides the melody, pretty simple piano piece, we all know Matt can kick in amazing piano riffs. But I have to admit it , it does the job. Love the middle piece, where it all falls in place, all the chaos stops and we hear "black holes and revelations".

03. Supermassive Black Hole

I wasnt convinced by this song when I heard it on single but it goes great right behind starlight. Starlight stops and the intro riff takes it away. Millionaire effect and it's kicking. My favourite part is where Matt screams "Suppermassive Black Hole"

04. Map Of The Problematique

One of the best songs on the album. Piano riff starts slow only to be taken away by matt's guitar riff and voice later on. Drama all over it.

05. A Soldier's Poem

Slowest song on the album, not the best song in my opinon but fits in great to diversify the album in emotions. The backing vocals gives it a fine and emotional touch that reminds me of Absolution.

06. Invincible

Ah here are the drums again, it takes your attention with a catchy melody. "Stand up for what you believe". Just love that middle section , bass takes it away with a great riff (time is running out !!!) and harmonics are common knowledge for Matt.

07. Assassin

Wow, I like Muse when they keep going hard and fast, this reminds me of a metal riff (Kind of System of A Down like) . Was expecting a more melodic riff. Matts voice brings me back to reality though and this is clearly a Muse song inspired by a metal riff.

08. Exo Politics

Franz Ferdinant riff 100 %. And I like it. I dont expect Muse to give me that dancing feeling but this riff cleary makes my muscles itch. I'm gonna bet this is gonna be their next single.

09. City Of Delusion

Aahh. Accoustic intro. Havent heard this in a while. Not bad. Then it goes spanish and then drama takes over.

10. Hoodoo

Hup Hup Flamenko like we know it. Matts starts with a vocal part . Like I expected it it exploded in huge drama in the middle and remids me of opera.

11. Knights Of Cydonia

Again one of my favourite songs.
Muse always muse their albums as 1 and not a compilation of songs. The last song proves that again. This song makes it happen and makes the album whole. Makes me thirsty for more.

Muse

keywords:
Music
Lyrics
mp3
